100 happy days - Day 81

Today was the longest fast I have ever kept in my life to date!  

It really felt like the day was two days long, probably because I had a nap in the early evening.  And I have work tomorrow for one day leading into Canada Day.  Totally confusing for my body!

I managed to have 6 tall glasses of water.  I'm a pee machine now! Ha. :)

As is the family tradition, we started with dates and some fruit salad (a la daddy this time):  

Healthy food, moderate potion sizes and loads of water are my goals for Ramadan eating this year.

100 happy days - Day 80

Today, I consciously appreciated every glass of water I drank because for the next few weeks we will be fasting!

Tonight was our first Taraweeh prayer.  I realized tonight I have a lot to work on..... Need to perfect my focus in prayer and cleanse my heart.  Here's to a challenging and hopefully productive Ramadan! :) ❤

100 happy days - Day 79

SOMA chocolate in good company!  Missed this guy!  Glad we could catch up on this beautiful summer evening in the city.............

I'm truly thankful for the people in my life, like Ricky, that remind me that I'm not alone.  Others are working on some of the same things I am.  Others are tackling the same challenges I am.  So even though I believe we are each on our own, I know we all are on our own... and in that way we are all together.  We can make the choice to support one another, and we can have empathy and compassion for each other.  

And on that note:  Ricky, I'm always gonna be in your corner!  :)  I know he will always be in mine, too. :)

100 happy days - Day 78

After a long work day, I came home to my parents' and had pizza and chai.  No better way to do a Tuesday night.  I love my mom and dad. ❤

100 happy days - Day 76 and 77

Day 76

Last day at Disney, and we had a blast!  Even though my feet hurt (make sure you wear proper running shoes when you go with people that plan to spend 15 hours at the park!) and I was dripping sweat because it was 30+degrees and humidex of, like, 837%, we managed to see and do a lot in the last 3 days!  I got to do almost everything I wanted, and I've made notes of the stuff I want to do next time I go.  I think there's a real benefit to going to Disney as an adult without kids.  I got to live out many memories from my childhood again and enjoy everything in a personal, uninhibited manner.  So, iA, when I go with my children, I'll know what to expect and will be able to be more self-less in the experience without any regrets. :) I'm honestly happy about that.  I look forward to the days I go with my future husband, children and parents to Disney to witness and fully enjoy all the magic this place has to offer.  They've really thought of everything.  I'd go back in a heartbeat (and with better shoes)!  Some of our pics are on my FB and some are on Instagram (1shanu1) - enjoy!  I'll post some here too:

Day 77

I love music.  I have some favourite artists, as most people do!  I particularly love covers of songs.  Here is the new Coldplay video which is so happy and sweet, it just made me smile ear-to-ear:

100 happy days - Day 72

This morning on 93.5, JJ and Melanie were talking about how Melanie has no ability for a poker face. So they decided to play a game where she reads something in a language and he has to guess if she's seducing him or insulting him.  

The three languages were German, Spanish and Korean.

When she spoke the Spanish phrase, he said "that sounded so sexy, you must be seducing me!"  And she was like "ummm no.  This is what i said in English:  

'What are you gonna do about a face when that baboon asks for his ass back?'!!!"

Hahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhaahahhahahahhahahahahahahhahahhahahahahhahahahahahhahahahhahahahahahhahahhahahahahhahaha!

I literally laughed for 10 minutes straight, that's was so funny.

Also tried a new resto with Jess, Rosemary and two other people:  Caballito.  A-MAZing fish tacos, ceviche and salsas!  Yummmmmm.....! :)

100 happy days - Day 71

Things I'm happy about today:

1.  My boss recognized me today!

2.  My MOR complimented me today!

3.  I've finally gotten some closure on something that I've been wanting for a long time..........Thank God.  I finally feel free.  This should probably be #1.  And I shoulda captured it earlier.

4.  I'm packing for my trip.....T-3 days left!!!

5.  My sister did something today that took courage and strength.  I'm sooooo proud of her. ❤

6.  I got through a yoga work out tonight!

7.  I'm going to bed early tonight!

100 happy days - Day 70

Today's happy day moment is easy.  It's Fathers Day today, and I got the chance to celebrate the man who has been there for me in all the important ways I've needed my entire life.  

No one person is perfect, no one person knows how to do everything right.  

But my dad is the kind of dad who always does his absolute best for us, who does everything we ask and need, who never thinks twice, who'd throw down in a heartbeat, who'd defend us with ferocity, who's thoughtfulness and love is strong and unwavering.  This person is really the one person in the whole world that I can always always always count on.  I love him with my whole heart and soul.  

He's pretty adorbs.❤  Here's some pics of our perfect day of brunching, walking, shopping, napping, BBQ-ing, movie-watching, and overall awesomeness. :)

I started a group on Whatsapp called "Skule" for some of my engineering friends.  Pretty hilarious.  Easy way to keep in touch!  I don't even mind the 47 messages waiting for me after being away from my phone for an hour!
