1000 happy days - Day 186

Today, these made me laugh and sigh (I love LOVE and KIDS!):

#2 made me cry laughing:

*Squeal!*:

I think I'm going to get myself that coffee table book "Humans of New York".  I love their posts on FB/Instagram.  Some super cute, sweet and deep moments caught.  Very interesting.  Totally the kin of project I wish I had thought of Andrade money doing.  Amazing idea and probably an amazing book.

1000 happy days - Day 185

Happy moment:  watched Christmas movies with Jess and D-murder tonight.  Missed my Sara-bear!  Saw "Elf" for the first time.  Best line in the movie:

"Buddy the Elf!  What's your favourite colour???"

:) Bahahhaha! :)

1000 happy days - Day 184

Performance reviews could potentially be the worst part of the day.  Unless you're cool like me, and you've managed to pull off 2 decent discussions and 1 stellar discussion, all resulting in 3 pretty decent development plans.

Also, impromptu dinner with Sammu after a long ass day at work is really stellar.  Obvy!

1000 happy days - Day 182

Lots of stuff happening at work and at home with the Cali wedding coming up.  Went to a Christmas party tonight.  This lil guy was the center of attention, justifiably so:

Nothing like a beautiful little person to lift everyone's spirits! May he always remain blessed.

1000 happy days - Day 181

Today at work, we had a day-long session on leadership.  It went okay.  I had the chance to reconnect with some people who have mentored me in my career in one way or another.

Also one of the (female) directors called me "baby".  Like "hi baby!"..... like I was her baby.  I died laughing.  I love her.  :) Definitely a highlight of the work day.  :)

After work, I got tix with Sammu to the one-of-a-kind show at the Direct Energy building.  It was my first time!  I got to see Sammu in action, scoping out art, checking in with prospective artists who looooove her. :) So cool!

Also, I ain't gonna lie, I flirted with 6 people - 4 dudes and 2 chicks.  BOOM!  Am I awesome, or what? :) One guy was really cute and a little awkward but funny. I liiiiiiiiiked hiiiiiiiim. :)

Good laughs, good experience, good surprise gift for Santosm and Colleen.  ;) :)

1000 happy days - Day 180

I don't know how I missed two happy day posts!

Actually, when I think about it, I realize it's probably because I felt bad the last couple of days.  I found out I might be going back to my section manager job in February.  I guess I've grown attached to being a department manager.  But that's not a good excuse for missing my happy day posts!

This sounded like the worst news ever in the moment..... And admittedly for a couple of days.  In fact, it still stings.  But the truth is its not actually a bad thing.  I love EFIN!  It's the best section and the nicest people, and the funnest scope of work.  I can go back to being awesome and crushing the "competition".  Muahhahahahahahhaaaaa!

Today I told my boss that I felt the sting but, after thinking about it and making some assumptions in my mind, I've realized I need to be unattached to what happens next.  I've decided my goal is to be happy in either case.  I think the truth is whatever comes next is going to be temporary anyway.  Everything is temporary.....

It's hard not to feel rejected, or embarrassed, or disheartened and de-motivated.  I thought for a couple of days of how to stick it to "them", whoever that is.  But that wouldn't amount to anything I could be proud of.

I think my happy moment today was telling my boss my honest feelings about the situation and getting it off my chest in a way I can be proud of.  He advised me to keep making the most of this opportunity.  He praised me for producing results and told me his own experience was similar.

In the end, I only want what's best for me and my family, and I have to believe everything is working out for me, whether I perceive it to be happening now or later.  I also have to believe that some of the decision makers in the equation have my best interest at heart because I trust in a person's sincerity and good character.

I've decided to have faith and live in the moment as best as I can!  Not easy to do, but also not new lessons to me.

Wish me love!  :)
