1000 happy days - Day 110

Productive day today.  Got up early and cleaned, did laundry and the dishes.  Went to a hot hatha yoga class at Chopra Yoga!  I was pouring sweat - literally pouring - about 3 minutes into the hour workout.  I'm so happy I've exercised two days in a row! :). Need to do yoga more than once in a blue moon. Ease and Effort - the theme of today's practice.  Need to let go of the stuff you want to control.  Good lesson for me.

After September, I'm going to commit to more yoga practices.....

THEN I went out to shop.  Another favourite sport of mine... ❤ Starbucks in-hand, I picked up a couple things on Queen street today.  Here's one outfit as a result (more outfits to come in future happy-day-posts!):

A great day!  I went swimming!  Automatically stellar.

Had dinner with the girls at Grand Electric today.  Yummy yummy food.  Here's some pics of us enjoying these beautiful summer days in the city.  Oh and my outfit, which got Rubes' double-thumbs-up. :)

Today is the birthday of le papa!  You know how I love my pops! Best dad a girl could dream of.  Seriously so thankful for his presence, love and strength in my life.  

That's what birthdays are for.  Giving thanks for someone in your life.

1000 happy days - Day 105

Yesterday I was put up to the ALS ice bucket challenge.  I got water in a bucket and added ice and stood in the backyard ready to go.  Little did I know how little memory space was left on my phone!  I got my sister to record me, I did my whole spiel and *just* as I started to pour the ice water over my head, my phone stopped recording!  

FAAAAAAIIIIIIIL! Hahahaha! :)

I had to do it TWICE!  The second take went up on FB.  But here's the end frame.  Literally at the end.  Right at the climax.  How ridiculous! :)

1000 happy days - Day 103

Today is my mom's birthday!  

It took me a minute but I finally got her the cake and flowers that I knew she would love.  

The thing is, no one is perfect.  There are some things I guess I could complain about.  But I choose to love my people for the good in them.  My mom taught me discipline, hard work, focus, commitment, and hardest of all, long division! One explanation from my mom at age 9, and I am a long division expert for life!  How many moms can say that???  If I've been successful at anything in my life, it's due in large part to the things/traits I've learned from my mom.  I share many qualities with my mom, good and bad, and I'm fully aware of that.  I love her/myself even still.  We are each other's reflection.  My mom is one of my heroes in her own very special way.  I love her with my whole heart.

Okay, I know it's silly but I'm just surprised at how much attention it's gotten.  Unexpected.  Interesting mix of people, too.

1000 happy days - Day 101

Today was my second day stepped up.  I have to say it felt tough.  Probably because its Day 2 and I am spending a lot more time in meetings, learning about what I'm expected to do, learning about what everyone else is doing, and making excuses for what is not yet done. :). Ha.  I  care too much.  Need to keep things in perspective.  Funny how just yesterday I saw everything with 20/20 vision.  Today I am struggling to not be so hard on myself (I mean its Day 2, for goodness sake!) and keep the balance.

To that end, I'm so glad I made plans with Santos and co this evening.  Met new people, made easy connections, enjoyed a giant sushi dinner in good loving company....  So sweet because Santos and Colleen treated to dinner for my birthday. :) We always forget who's turn it is to pay anyway. ❤  I also got their wedding invite!  Sooooo cute!  AND!  La pièce de resistance..... A mag with JT on the cover which I have been coveting for what has apparently been a full year!  Santos remembered, which is amazing in itself, and managed to get me a copy.  It's used, but I don't care.  It completes my collection!

100 happy days - Day 100!!!

This is it!  My 100th post!  I made it!  

And what better day to post this momentous post than on my 34th birthday?!! :) 

Today I enjoyed messages, emails and phone calls with love and prayers and good energy attached.  I am in awe of this!  I posted this in response on my Facebook:

"I sort of joked with some of you that 33 was The Jesus Year.  In my mind, it meant that I was supposed to go out and do something extraordinary this year and really make it count.  There are some many things I could've done or maybe should've done.  But I have no regrets.  And in fact, many miraculous things have happened to me this past year.  I look back and I'm happy, humbled, thankful and satisfied.  I look forward and I am still so so so happy and excited for what comes next.  Every single day in my life is an absolute blessing.  Thank you for your love, duas, good energy, and kindness today!  You helped me make this particular birthday full of sweetness!  Much love!!!"

I had the pleasure of my mother and father's company today.  I had a massage, a haircut, roses, cupcakes, and watched "Guardians of the Galaxy" with my dad.  My sister made me a playlist just for me!  How wonderful is that?  Everything a girl could ask for on a day off of work. :)

This 100 happy days thing has really worked some magic in my life.  It feels so good, I'm going to continue.  My Precious suggested 1000 happy days!  So that's the new goal. :). Let's see what happens next!

100 happy days - Day 99

I have no pictures!  But today I took my parents to my place, and from there, we walked to the Hot n Spicy festival at Harbourfront.  It was a lovely walk:  cool weather with the sun popping out from behind the clouds periodically, walking along the water, walking up and down bridges and stairs to the festival, seeing so many different kinds of people.....  Good reminder of why I love living downtown so much!  My parents liked sitting by the water with a couple of snacks from the festival.  We saw a number of hot sauces from all over the world and of such crazy variety it was amusing.  I think my favourite was a passionfruit hot sauce (not surprising, I know).  

Perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon. :) I love my parents! ❤

Yesterday was my first day on the job as a manager.  Pretty baller.  My schedule gets posted now, and it may be a small thing to some, but to me it's kind of awesome!

I wish I had pictures!  Today I am thankful for:

1.  An awesome lunch c/o le Papa

2.  A scrumptious dinner and chai with Nalini at Capacaccio

3.  The opportunity to purge my closet - still full but I've got a tonne of stuff to give away!

4.  A dishwasher.  More important than you know. ;)

I finally got to meet my jaanu today!  This is Ariya, my closest friend Sarika's new daughter.  Fresh at just 13 days old, I spent the day holding and cuddling her.  Nothing like that new baby intoxicant to take me to cloud 9! ❤

This is totally me and my sister on the weekends, and the expressions on the faces are exactly replicant of mine an my sister's!  It cracks me up!!!

Oh and if it isn't obvious, she's the one who comes bounding into my room on a weekend morning, demanding my attention....!

Happiness is.....

Being in a groove and at *just* the right vibration..... Things were work-focused today, AND it was a good day.  I happily reported a clean list to my bosses today, and got to recognize my staff because of it.  Feels good to hold up a badge of honor like that!

Wow it's been a long time!  Between Ramadan and my trip to NYC, I've been neglecting this!

Today my happy day moment was seeing my ol' friend Bosley, who brought some 1-page articles on leadership.  I didn't take a picture, but this moment made me happy.  I'm just glad he thought of me. :)
